Balkan Union of Metallurgists
is founded after the First Balkan Conference on
Metallurgy in Plovdiv, Bulgaria BUM is a non-profit, non-governmental organization with ideal public objectives. The official Residence of BUM, its legal registration and its Permanent Secretariat is in Sofia, Bulgaria. BUM has the objective to support the development of economical, business and scientific-technical communications among firms, universities, institutes and organizations from the Balkan region and outside of the Region. Leading bodies of BUM are The General Assembly of the Members, the Administrative Council and the Secretariat. Members of the BUM can be factories, trade firms, faculty departments, public and professional organizations as well as independent legal entities. The financing of BUM is done by membership fees, sponsoring, donations and other sources. BUM organizes publishing activity by editing periodical information bulletins, specialized books, advertising materials
